About Regional Center

Ahmedabad centre was established in the year 1965. Initially this centre was located at Lal Darwaja. Thereafter, in the year 1967 revenue free land was allotted at khanpur and the institute building was constructed which is known as Barfiwala Bhavan. There are six classrooms, one AC conference hall with Audio visual aids, Library, Laboratory and office having 13 cabins for officers and office space for other staff members. Totally 35 staff members are at present working at this centre.

We also have a COMPUTER DEPARTMENT at our Ahmedabad regional center. Our computer centre is one of the training centres of Gujarat Knowledge Society (GKS) & Society for Creation of Opportunities Through Proficiency in English (SCOPE). Government of Gujarat came up with a revolutionary measure to bridge the gap between requirements of educational system and industries. Here, specially customized short term courses are prepared that can be easily provided to the common man at a nominal rate. To implement and take these specially customized programmes to every corner of the state of Gujarat, the Gujarat Knowledge Society was instituted. Gujarat Knowledge Society aims to empower the young students of standard 10, 12 and those educated beyond this by providing a curriculum that will provide them high expertise and open up new employment avenues.

PRUDA – Unit for Planning and Research on Urban Development Affairs incorporated under All India Institute of Local Self Government to conduct various planning and research activities related to challenging urban development affairs was established in June 2004 at Ahmedabad centre with the aim to carry out people oriented and sustainable developmental planning.
