• LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENT DIPLOMA (LSGD) 
  • Duration:
    a) Regular Course: The training session of 6 months duration is held every year from July-September

    b) Distance Learning Programme: One year course from June - May.
  • Eligibility:
    a) Admission is open to the candidates with minimum qualification of Matriculation, Secondary School Certificate Examination or other equivalent examination conducted by an State Govt. or Union Territory. The candidates with higher qualifications such as Sanitary Inspectors Diploma, Pre-University Examination Certificate, etc. will however, be given preference in admission.

    b) Employees of local bodies with minimum qualification of Matriculation or Secondary School Certificate Examination or other equivalent examination conducted by an State Govt. or Union Territory recommended by the head of the local body will also be given preference in admission. This does not apply to class four employees of local bodies.

    c) Employees of local bodies with 5 years experience but not possession the above qualification may be admitted if the Executive head of the local body concerned certifies that the applicant is a fit candidate for admission. This does not apply to class four employees of local bodies.

    d) Acceptance of course fee by the Institute shall confirm the admission of the course.

    Course content
    The object of holding these classes is to train those students, who having completed their scholastic or University education, aspire to join service in a local body and also those who, being already in the service of a local body, desire to qualify themselves for higher posts.
