All India Institute of Local Self Government (AIILSG) was founded in 1926 as a recognized autonomous research and training institution in the field of urban development and governance. AIILSG was registered as a society in 1970 under Societies Act. To capitalized on the vast experience of AIILSG in the field of Education and Research and to contribute in meeting the high demand for Qualified Management Professionals, AIILSG established "Chanakya Institute of Management Studies and Research" an advanced and progressive Management Institute in 2007. AIILSG has close working ties with various renowned international bodies such as UN-HABITAT, UNDP, UNICEF, WHO, GTZ, CLGFIULA etc. to impart training and conduct research activities.
