All India Institute of Local Self Government is one of the pioneer organizations working for the cause of importing knowledge to the local bodies and also the best and health practices in their routine functioning. It also educates local government institutions to strengthen and improve their performance through orientation training and experience sharing and creating common platforms for members of local bodies and officiais for exchanging the views and knowledge for betterment of its functioning. The Institute periodically conducts various Workshops/Seminars/Conference on important topics concerning the local bodies at Local/State and National level.

The Institute has 27 working centres spread over in different parts of our country wherein many vocational training courses are conducted as per the local needs meant for the unemployed youth of our country.

The whole concept of Nursing was started years before by Flourence Nightingale, who is known as the 'Lady of the Lamp'.

In view of the tremendous demand and shortage of trained Nurses all over the country including abroad and considering its employment potential, the Health Department of Government of Gujarat had requested us to start suitable Nursing Courses and accordingly we started the first batch of the Diploma Course in General Nursing & Midwifery Course in the month of September '04 at our Nursing Academy with the recognition of Gujarat Nursing Council and Indian Nursing Council. The first batch of the successful students shall be out after two weeks. Now the Nursing Academy is known as 'Nrupur Nursing Academy'.

There are 23 Government Nursing Institutions and 11 Private Organisations. Amongst all these organizations, Nrupur Nursing Academy is considered as one of the finest training centres having the best infrastructure like Library, Laboratory, adequate Class rooms, Conference Hall, Canteen, Hostel rooms etc., as per the norms prescribed by Gujarat Nursing Council and Indian Nursing Council. Further, the Academy is providing its own bus facilities for the students for their visits to various hospitals, study tour, external practical attachments, etc., during their study hours/course period. With all these excellent facilities, we conduct the Diploma Course in General Nursing & Midwifery for a period of 3 1/2 years as per the norms laid down by Indian Nursing Council & Gujarat Nursing Council.

As a matter of fact, we are finding acute dearth of trained teachers in the area of Nursing Tutors. We are, therefore, planning to start the Post Basic Degree Nursing Courses wherein we will take up the specialized course to bring up Nursing tutors. There are tremendous opportunities for the qualified Nurses not only in India, but abroad also and in order to give them a platform for outstanding, we are giving them extra tuitions in English language, Computer knowledge and Information Technology.

Training in the Academy is full time and progressive, instructors who are working in full time are continuously updating their knowledge and thereby they will be able to produce the support to the existing vacancies. Further, we would be continuously adopting the new challenges that are available at International market in order to give the full and latest training to our students.

We are also planning to take up the State Level Seminar with a view to update the knowledge of the Tutors considering the advancement in modern technology.

The inauguration of the newly built 'Nrupur Nursing Academy' is inaugurated by Shri Jay Narayan Vyas, Hon'ble Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Government of Gujarat on 5th Aprii, 2008.
