The Nrupur Nursing Academy was established in Vadodara 2006, in collaboration with AIILSG, Vadodara. A batch of 40 candidates will be provided training in nursing along with training in computers.
A new building with modern facilities was set up in 2008 and it was inaugurated by the State Health Minister Mr. Jay Narayan Vyas on 5 Aprii 2008. The Academy was built at the cost of Rs. 3.5 crores including a well equipped laboratory at a cost of Rs. 50 lakhs and a hostel at a cost of Rs. 25 lakhs.
The Director-General of the Institute. Mr. Ranjit S. Chavan informed the press/media that AIILSG has its headquarters in Mumbai and has nearly 30 centres all over the country. Of the 23 Nursing Academies in Gujarat, 11 are autonomous. Today, there is a shortage of 15 lakhs nursing personal world - wide. Of these the USA needs 2.5 lakhs nurses and UK needs 1.5 lakhs nurses. Likewise, there is a requirement of doctors & dentists too.
The President of the Institute Dr. Jatin V. Modi stated that the Nrupur Academy has created a new platform for the unemployed nurses. In Kerala there are 60-70 nursing academies that are working effectively in the area of health care. The Gujarat Government has banned the short term courses and given recognition to a long term 3'/2 years course. In hospitals too, there are opportunities for qualified nurses.
Nrupur Academy covers every aspect of health in its course syllabus. The course commenced on September 2007 and the first batch secured 100 per cent results in the examination. Nrupur Academy offers state-of-the-art training to its students and equips them with proficiency in nursing, computers & English so that they can acquire a job in any corner of the country.
