Participation
shall be by invitation, Mayors, Deputy Mayors, Commissioners,
Experts in Disaster Management, Academicians, Institutes,
Government Representatives, City Administrators and selected
NGOs will be invited to participate in this International
Conference. |

Venue and Dates |
| |
The Conference shall be in Mumbai from 13 to 15
November 2006. International Conference will be held in the Mayor's
Hall, All India Institute of Local Self Government which in located
in the close vicinity of the international airport of the Mumbai
city. The staying arrangements will be made in 5 Star Hotels
situated near the venue of the conference. The expert working group
supervising logistics is also working towards lodging and boarding
at the conference site or in the close vicinity to the facility.

The language of the conference shall be English. |

Registration |
| |
The registration fees for the conference is US $
250. Any person accompanying the delegate shall pay US $ 75. The
organizers will provide local hospitality and conference material. |

The conference shall broadly be trisected into
general disaster management principles that can be applicable to all
kind of disasters. This would focus on such subjects as follows

Case Studies |
| |
The International Conference will
focus on case studies prepared on recent disaster such as the Mumbai
floods (July 2005). New Orleans tornado Katrina (2005) and the Twin
Disasters (Earth Quake and Tsunami) in Indonesia and others (Dec
2004). |

Conference Format |
| |
The international conference
will include keynote addresses, plenary sessions, thematic groups
and panel discussions / presentations comprising international and
national experiences. Concurrent sessions will have presentations of
papers by the delegates and will be facilitates by the experts.
The International conference presentation will adopt wide range
of modalities, poster sessions, work shops, video presentation,
multimedia presentation etc. |

Abstracts |
| |
Participants interested in presenting
at the International conference or providing a poster to be
displayed in the exhibition area during the conference should submit
their abstracts as quickly as possible. Abstracts must be sent in
the electronic form (Diskette or Email) with a maximum length of 400
words. |

Travel |
| |
The delegates will make their own travel
arrangement for international travel. The Conference Secretariat at
the AIILSG will assist in their visit to Mumbai and in the vicinity
of Mumbai. |

Help / Accident Insurance and VISA |
| |
The organizers
shall not provide help/accident insurance for the delegates.
Appropriate arrangements for insurance coverage may be made by the
delegates.
VISA is required from most countries to travel to India. The
delegates are requested to make the necessary arrangements with the
Embassy/Consulate in their countries well in advance of travel plan. |

Climate |
| |
The temperature in Mumbai during the
Conference will be moderate and is likely to be in range of 24 to 29
degrees Celsius. Light clothing is recommended. |

Access and Communication |
| |
Mumbai has excellent air
connectivity with most international destinations. The Chhatrapati
Shivaji International airport of Mumbai is about 20 kms from the
main city. However, the venue is likely to be within 5 km of the
international airport. |
