Since July 2000, Government of Maharashtra has adopted a demand driven and participatory approach in solving rural drinking water and Sanitation sector problems.
- The Jalswarajya project is aimed at successfully resolving the various challenges in operationalizing the new policy, strategy and approach Statewide and for this Government of Maharashtra has allotted AIILSG for the accomplishment of this project.
- Jalswarajya-I project successfully encouraged the concept of water self-rule and self-governance. Considering this, the GoM has decided to scale up the Jalswarajya-I approach under the Jalaswarajya-II program to improve service delivery in water and sanitation sector.
AIILSG, Pune is running Jalswarajya-II project in Ahmednagar district since last two years. Capacity Building, IEC and Mobilization are the three major components covered under this project.
