All India Institute of Local Self-Government (AIILSG) has been working as a reputed training institute for capacity building of local bodies for over 90 years. It works to strengthen these institutions by training their officers and staff on local governance issues. In order to foster these efforts, AIILSG will set up a new facility at Mulund, East Gavanpada.
Mayor of Mumbai, Principal Vishwanath Mahadeshwar graced the stone laying ceremony of this new facility as Chief Guest on Saturday. The local MLA Sardar Tara Singh of Mulund and President of AIILSG, Ranjit Chavan were among the dignitaries present. BJP corporator Rajshree Kini, AIILSG’s Director General Rajiv Agarwal, Vice President Rajkishore Modi, Vijay Sane, Ashish Deosthali, Ravi Ranjan Guru, and former councilor Abhijeet Chavan were also present on the occasion.
The Mayor praised the contribution of AIILSG and expressed confidence that the young generation will be well settled by availing quality education in this educational complex. He mentioned that one could get good education in the future due to the educational complex being given by the Municipal Corporation.
Currently, the Municipal Corporation is collecting about 7000 MT of garbage every day and making constant efforts to provide better roads, quality health facilities and good education. He expressed confidence that under the Mumbai Corporation, citizens will continue to get better services and facilities.
MLA Sardar Tara Singh in his address said that there are already 40 schools in Mulund and the new AIILSG facility will open up new opportunities for people of this area.
In his introductory address, Ranjit Chavan reviewed the work of AIILSG during the last nine decades while Rajiv Agarwal welcomed the gathering.
