  1. National workshop on non-networked sanitation systems for India
  2. National Workshop on Non-Networked Sanitation Systems for India, held in Mussoorie from 27th-28th February 2019, was one of its kind national learning event for practitioners and training institutions to come together and share both rural and urban initiatives and experiences for addressing liquid waste management. The workshop was jointly organized by three institutions based on its experience in sanitation, namely, All India Institute of Local Self-Government (AIILSG), Mumbai in association with National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) and National Center for Good Governance (NCGG). This National workshop at Mussoorie was organized for officials to come together and discuss rural as well as urban initiatives and experiences for addressing Septage Management.

    More than 70 delegates, including Senior Central and State Level bureaucrats, Municipal Commissioners, Chief Officers from various ULBs across India, academic professionals, engineers, consultants and sector experts of sanitation attended the workshop.





  3. Innovative exchange forum under IFAT India (October 2018)
  4. IFAT India 2018 is the sixth edition of India's Leading Trade Fair for Water, Sewage, Solid Waste and Recycling, which took place from October 15-17, 2018 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (BEC) in Mumbai organized by Messe Muenchen India. Based on the experience in the sector of sanitation and waste management, the Regional Centre of Urban and Environmental Studies (RCUES) of All India Institute of Local Self Government (AIILSG), Mumbai in association with IFAT, India organized the Innovative Exchange Forum on 15th October, 2018 on Sustainable Sanitation and Solid Waste Management Conclave at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai which addressed the challenges that cities are facing in the Sanitation and Solid Waste Management sector.

    • The event included a conference session, panel discussion and a round of question answers with the participants.
    • A total of 39 participants attended the forum comprising of municipal functionaries- City Engineer, Executive Engineer, Deputy Municipal Commissioner (SWM), Senior Engineers, Chief Sanitary Inspectors, Sanitary Inspectors, Sector Consultants, Entrepreneurs and NGOs.

  5. Exposure visit to Indore and Ujjain (January 2019)

    An exposure visit of municipal corporators of Vasai Virar City Municipal Corporation was organized by AIILSG Mumbai to Indore and Ujjain from 19th to 23rd February 2019. The training covered areas of segregation, collection transportation and processing of solid waste, ODF+ and faecal sludge and septage management, municipal financial resources mobilization and conducting business meetings.
