IEC and Field Activities for promotion of Solid Waste Management and preperation of Documents and Data for Swachh Survekshan parameters.

    Greater Noida is Participating in Swachh Bharat Mission and Survekshan for the first time. The city presently, does not have desirable physical infrastructure for processing of waste, which is needed to achieve good ranks in the Swachh Survekshan. Swachh Survekshan 2021 contains many parameters, which are tested, and for which more than 4,000 cities across India will be competing with each other, on effeciency in Waste Management practices in their city. AIILSG is working as an NGO reporting all the Ground realities,in Greater Noida’s, Zone 2, providing data and analysis to achieve all parameters of Swachh Bharat Mission.

    Greater Noida is one of the largest planned industrial townships of Asia. Greater Noida development area encompasses about 20,316 hectares of land consisting of 122 villages in Gautam Budh Nagar district. The city is divided into 10 fully, partially and under developed work circles. Greater Noida has total population of approx. 5 Lacs (as per Master Plan). For this work Greater Noida is divide in two zones i.e. Zone-1 and Zone-2. For healthy competition, transparency, better efficiency and adaptation of innovative idea two bidders are selected, where, for zone 2 are being dealt by AIILSG. Zone2 - Of Greater Noida has 56 Villages and 27 Sectors.

Description of Project:-

For achieving sustainable sanitation, There is huge need for awareness among people about good hygiene practices. There are many villages in Greater Noida where people do not have personal toilets in their houses and hence people are defecating in the open. Our NGO has collected data of all the households in the villages, to identify the ones which do not have toilets in their homes, so that they can apply for toilets funded by the SBM’s scheme providing funding for IHHL’s. Our field team is performing constant follow ups at OD spots and OD areas, and is also continuously sensitising people about good Hygeine practices.

Eligibility :- Min.Inter  Pass and Min. age of 18years.

Our NGO is also managing creation of Database for the first time pertaining to Sustainable Waste management, and Sustainable Sanitation in GNIDA. We are collecting data about- Collection and Transportation, Processing, Sanitation, IEC Activities, and Photographic Evidence, which will be needed for all documentation process needed for participating in SBM.

Work done as part of the project in the past week.-

Our team had visited 10 Households from each sector and village, and measured the amount of waste generated by the households, 700 Households surveyed uptill now. The accumulated data has been concluded which will be used for preparing Calculation Sheet and assessment of processing capacity of the city.
